Well, here's Sunday and Mondays blog post. On Sunday, I was way too tired to even post, so I apologize. On Monday, I spent 2 hours writing a blog post for Sunday and that day, but my computer crashed, and I lost it. So here goes nothing, or everything, take your pick-
Sunday
I got up early, took a shower, and headed off to church. I was there early because I was helping Nikki out. So I watched her kids, Lucas and Josh, while she was packing stuff in the van, and then Nikki, her husband Matt, and I went to the Park, and set everything up. Then the kids got there [1st through 6th grade] and my friends, because they were volunteering too. So we hung out, and then we ate lunch. After lunch we had the Amazing Race. I was a leader for team yellow. We had a kid that was really out of shape and stuff, and they couldn't run...So we came in third. Out of six. We were the yellow team. Then all the teams played games. Me, Katelyn, and Aaron were just standing around. Then Aaron got stung by a bee. =[. Poor Aaron.
Then, me, Katelyn, Aaron and Micah got in Raedeans car and her dad drove us to the mall. Me and Katelyn were in the very back, and we were SO hyper. I couldn't stop laughing, and that made Katelyn laugh, and it was just hilarious. The guys kept looking at us like we were crazy [me especially] and Raedean and her dad were making fun of us. All in good fun of course. I <333 my friends.
Then, we get to the mall. Katelyn decided that she needed to wash her feet. So, I went with her while she washed her feet in the mall sink. She is SUCH a dork. But her feet did need to be washed. =P. When we got back, the rest of the youth group was there. So we got our tickets and got seated in the theater to see Prince Caspian.
So I was sitting on the inside, with Katelyn to my right, Brittani to Katelyn's right, and Raedean to Brittanis right. Anyways, the movie was AWESOME. The order was all screwed up and didn't match the book, but I can kind of see the reason behind it. They also threw in a romance between Caspian and Susan, which IS NOT THERE AT ALL in the book. But it was a nice touch. The Switchfoot song, This is Home, was not played during the movie, or the immediate credits, so I was pretty disappointed.
During the movie, Edmund's character said something funny. Apparently Brittani thought it was REALLY funny, because she laughed like a hyena for 45 minutes. It was crazy. I'm sure other movie watchers were pissed at her. But then again, me and Katelyn did a blow-by-blow commentary on the movie while it was playing, so I bet we were really annoying too. LOL.
So then we drove to Dairy Queen. Surprisingly, the guys were more hyper than me and Katelyn on the way over. But, at Dairy Queen things changed. Brittani was STILL laughing. So we were all laughing, it was crazy. I ordered water because I was stuffed from the popcorn at the movies. Apparently water is free at Dairy Queen. Yay for free water!!
Anyways, so it was me, Katelyn, Brittani, Curran, and Melissa in a booth. We were all SO hyper. I bet Dairy Queen thought we were drunk or something. Anyways, I guess I said something funny, because Curran spit blue slushie EVERYWHERE. As I was picking my purse up, I noticed it was blue and soaked. I was like, "Ew Corn [nickname] you got my purse wet!!" I guess that was funny because she exploded AGAIN. Ah, what to do with my friends? =P Our time spent at DQ is much more interesting than I can put into this blog though.
Then, we drove back to the church, where everyones parents either picked them up or they got a ride home. Jen, my instructor, gave me her old guitar. I'm SO SO SO excited!!! My first full size guitar! Granted, its old and clunky, but its still a guitar!! WHOOH-HOOH!!!!!
Then, Kris drove me home. As soon as I got inside the house, I crashed.
Monday
I was so weak. I felt light-headed, and really tired. My body just couldn't do things. I didn't do any math. I spent the morning reading the Chronicles of Narnia books; The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and The Last Battle.
My eyes were opened today. I re-realized today what I've known for a long time. I think C.S. Lewis brought things down to a level I could wrap my head around, because I most certainly can't wrap my head around God. Aslan is God. Everything about him C.S wrote in the image of my Lord. Of God.
"It isn't Narnia, you know," sobbed Lucy. "It's you. We shan't meet you there. And how can we live, never meeting you?"
"But you shall meet me, dear one," said Aslan.
"Are- are you there too, Sir?" said Edmund.
"I am," said Aslan. "But there I have another name. You must learn to know me by that name. This was the very reason why you were brought to Narnia, that by knowing me here for a little, you may know me better there."
That make me cry. "This was the very reason why you were brought to Narnia, that by knowing me here for a little, you may know me better there." I can't really explain how it affects me. But it does, tremendously. Maybe it will touch you too.
Another part, in the Voyage of the Dawn Treader, that gets me, is when Aslan is peeling Eustace's dragon skin off. Compare it to God taking our sins away. We are the dragon, we are Eustace. God is Aslan, God is the Lion. Read it, I beg you too. Read it, and maybe it will affect you like it affected me. I cried.
Lord, I don't know what to say. Open my heart, for me to have greater faith in you. Free my tongue, so that I may say everything I want to say to you. Then bind it so I may not utter a word against You. I need your help to stay on track, living for You. I may be weak, but You are strong. Hold me Lord, just hold me. Amen.
"Prone to wander, Lord I fear it, prone to leave the God I love.."
"Time, all you wanted was more time, but all we've ever had it time."
"I'm not who I was."
"Praise the Lord, oh my soul, praise the Lord."
SFQOTD- "This is your life, are you who you want to be?"
"This is my American dream- I want to live and die for bigger things."
